Results

ReliaREN-Pro is based on two innovation pillars. They both form steps towards a reliable and renewable electric energy supply valid for all power systems integrating PV power plants.

On the one hand we aim to increase the reliability of photovoltaic power plants by better failure analysis at the module and plant level to minimize losses and increase the yield as well as to improve the long-time performance.

On the other hand ReliaREN-Pro increases the trust and the reliability in ICT data and infrastructure of PV power plants. The security, reliability, availability and completeness of production data and plant status is increased for PV data transmission, its ICT infrastructure and potential impact of corresponding errors or failure situations.

Finally, long term degradation path prediction is conducted by improved energy yield forecast modelling. ReliaREN-Pro supports the industry in terms of risk evaluation of the energy supply by interweaving machine learning models with physical based models. Together with harmonization proposals for measurement methods and guidelines for harmonizing routines and ICT data handling, vital steps are taken towards superior energy supply predictability and evaluating plant reliability and failure or underperformance risk.
